Kaspersky says ready to participate in US Congress session Oct 25
MOSCOW, Oct 9 (PRIME) -- Chief of Russian antivirus software maker Kaspersky Lab, Yevgeny Kaspersky, said on October 7 that he hopes to take part in the U.S.’ Congress hearings on the company, accused of threatening the country’s national security, on October 25.
“I’m waiting for information from the committee and hope to participate and answer questions directly,” Kaspersky said.
In September, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ordered state authorities and agencies to stop using programs of Kaspersky Lab over concerns about its ties with the Kremlin. The company denied all the accusations.
The Committee on Science, Space, and Technology at Congress will hold hearings on Kaspersky Lab on October 25, while participants are yet to be chosen.
